Texas apparently treats the OC the same as a 3rd party debt collector, so I don't believe the laws governing debt collection are any stricter in Texas then elsewhere. According to http://www.cardreport.com/laws/statute-of-limitations.html the statute of limitations in Texas is 4 years. That's not too bad. Here in New York it's (big gulp) 6 years.
