New Post/Thread Notification: Credit repair discussions

Hello,

tommy_1812 has just posted in the Credit repair discussions forum of CreditWrench under the title of Rentreporters.com reports rent or not? I am skeptical.

This thread is located at http://www.creditwrench.com/consumers/showthread.php?threadid=494

Here is the message that has just been posted:

I was told that they are reporting to Innovis (the soon to be big 4 CRA in the near future). I haven't acquired a copy of my innovis report yet, as I am against giving them my signature. They have a copy of my Drivers License, which has my signature. They refused me my report because I didn't give them a signature on a piece of paper. I am looking into violations for failure to provide me my credit report on request.

Otherwise, if I ever did obtain my credit report and found that rent reporters was reporting to innovis then I would be less leery of this company rentreporters.com. If I find that it isn't on my innovis report, then I will assume that it is a scam. It's been 9 months now since I signed up for this service. I did, however, see that they updated my rent profile for May and June 2005. Nothing for July yet. They mentioned my Landlord by name in an email sent to me updating me about my account. I never gave them my landlords name, so this is a little bit of faith that I hold.

I have heard of legitimate companies that do report rent, BUT the landlord has to sign up for the service. Then the landlord has to send the company verification of rent payments. Here is the link: http://www.nail-usa.com/rent_monitoring.htm

The only difference is the landlord has to sign up instead of the consumer. Rent reporters might not be allowed to report because they don't check the credentials of the landlord. If you rent, and this is what I might be doing soon, is talking to my landlord about this rent service at nail-usa.com
