Well again dealing with FedEx is handled in the same manner get them to stop the CA and you will pay that simple make sure you get their commitment in writing saying they will do this,,, if they send you a new bill and you pay and have all the reciepts I would think that would be proof..

Well, maybe I should call Fedex customer service and see if I can pay them directly rather than paying the CA. Does the CA really own my debt or will they just give Fedex the money I pay them? I'd rather pay Fedex but then I'd have to make sure that they get the CA called off. What do you all think?

No problem!!
However there are very few practicing attorneys who know these laws and the stratigies needed to win.. I know Bill will support my statement on this..

I have been in court ProSe' FED and local level and beat attorneys so have a pretty good knowledge in these matters(and still learning)..Bill has seen the documents..

Bill has supported me in these things and I have learned to win from him.. So be assured that we would not mislead you with our answers. And as most cases turn out you have a confidentiality clause in the settlement that says you will not mention the firm or attorney you beat.. I was told by the last one "we must have this as we do not want anything winding up in the papers such as" and I quote "Beach bum prose' beats attorney"
I can sum this up very simply when someone does not follw the letter of the law and is brought to task makes no difference civilian or attorney when your right,, your right and that is part of winning..

These guys are buzzards but you will not know until you try if they refuse to work with you go then to validation and proceed from there hoping to catch them on DCPA violations and then takem' to court. Of course this will cost them and you a lot more then $20.00 in time alone..
However I had a very similure situation with Airbourne during their transition to DHL took me 6 plus months to fix and I had paid the bill in full and was able to prove it. had paid with debit card and the bank records we readily available,,anyway it maybe worth a call to FedEx and talking to them they DO have the power to call the CA off..I delt with DHL and even then it got sent to a CA (after DHL told me not to worry they were fixing it) and I told them the CA to go ahead and sue me for the $45.00 in fact I begged them to sue me for the amount which had risen to $150.00 as I could not wait to get them in court show the judge I paid this 6+ months ago get the case dropped and turn around and sue them and DHL for filing a frivolus lawsuit and naming DHL as co-defendant..could not get them to do it though they somehow got religion.... I again called DHL told them the story and said I would name them in the suit..the problem has gone away and no reprecusions.
